Community Support

Success as a company does not occur in a vacuum. It grows from a community – from the local communities where our employees, growers and customers live and work, to the broader community of colleagues working on causes we believe in.

Supporting the greater community

OGC donates at least 2.5 percent of the previous year’s profits to charitable causes that advance organic agriculture, education, environmental health, sustainability and feeding the hungry. Donations include both cash and in-kind deliveries of fresh produce.

Requesting donations

Donation requests are evaluated by our Community Contributions Committee.

The committee prioritizes local 501(c)3 and other organizations that align with our values and mission.

Employee giving

We have an employee giving campaign through United Way and EarthShare. The company matches the first $1,000 pledged per year by an employee.

Additionally, OGC encourages staff to contribute to other causes they support by matching the employee donation up to $100 a month or $1,200 a year.

We also encourage our employees to volunteer their time through our one-day-a-year “Volunteer Paid Time” benefit to employees.

“Thank you for all of your past support of Organic Seed Alliance. Our work is growing strong as awareness of the importance of seed is rising in the organic community. You are all helping make that happen. Peace.” —Micaela Colley, Organic Seed Alliance
