Meet OGC Mission Fund Recipient: Kiss the Ground

OGC’s Mission Fund invests in organizations and projects working to address and mitigate the impacts of climate change, preserve the natural environment, and protect natural resources. The nonprofit Kiss the Ground is using the power of storytelling and creative talent to do just that.

In 2013, a group of activists in Southern California gathered to see what could be done to raise awareness and motivate action around climate change. They knew there was extraordinary potential in the layers beneath our feet…our Earth’s soil. Ten years later, Kiss the Ground’s mission to awaken people to the possibilities of regeneration and inspire participation has influenced millions through storytelling, education, and advocacy including the award-winning namesake documentary, Kiss the Ground.

“Things feel like they’re starting to come together. There’s a lot of hope – people are seeing results, and farmers are saying the soil is changing,” said Nathan Rice, Communications and Marketing Director at Kiss the Ground. “Organizations like Organically Grown Company are important for this change – both by promoting organic, which keeps toxic pesticides off the land, and financially supporting our work.”

This year, Kiss the Ground is launching a second part of the movie, multiple new films including farmer stories, and a new regenerative label for cotton. Tune in here.
