From Farm Workers to Farm Owners

The Capital Press, the Northwest’s top agriculture-focused newspaper, published a heartwarming article this week titled From Farm Workers to Farm Owners which shines a light on the journey of Virginia Herrera and Zenon Ramirez to owning Eloisa Organic Farm in Albany, Oregon.

Longtime OGC friend and grower partner Jamie Kitzrow served as a role model and mentor to the couple for years as they worked on Kitzrow’s Springhill Farm. Upon his retirement, Jamie leased acres of his land to them, helping Eloisa Farm take root and making Virginia and Zenon’s dream of running a farm come true. OGC is honored to carry their high quality organic vegetables during the NW season.

With a commitment to helping them succeed, in December 2020 Eloisa Farm was a recipient of an OGC Mission Fund grant, money they will use to invest in farming equipment of their own.
