But not all bananas and banana suppliers are alike. OGC’s allegiance to Organics Unlimited as our primary supplier of this important commodity comes from decades-long respect and shared purpose. Their commitment to organic practices, community support and fair pricing is what sets them apart.
A partner since 2005, OGC is the biggest contributor to the GROW banana program in partnership with our customers who sell GROW bananas. GROW is short for Giving Resources and Opportunities to Workers. A small surcharge added to each box of GROW bananas goes directly to improving communities where bananas are grown.
In 2023, more than $126,500 in premiums were reinvested in Organic Unlimited’s growing communities, funding 44 scholarships, the Casa Amiga safe campus housing operation for young women, a book program to encourage reading and access to a health and dental clinic.
