Keep Excitement High for Stone Fruit to Capture Late-Summer Sales!

Organic stone fruit season nets big rings at the register, and it’s not over yet! With the weather cooling and shoppers’ interests beginning to include orchard fruit, it’s easy to turn sets too early, leaving money on the table. Here’s where to focus energy for the next few weeks by building prominent displays for a strong finish to stone fruit season that supports growers all the way to end.

 NW Yellow Nectarines

The California nectarine season has wrapped for the year, but Northwest grown will provide these juicy gems for eager eaters through mid-to-late-September. Yellow nectarines eat great and create a strong foundation for late-season stone fruit sets.

Black Plums

Expected to last into October, and coming out of California and the Northwest, there are several varieties with good volume that’ll entice shoppers to keep picking stone fruit as their “something sweet.” Here's two to watch for:

  • NW Black Friar plum will be available in volume, so confidently stock up on this stout and sweet variety.

  • Howard Sun plum is a freestone variety that’s ideal for cooking, fresh eating and satisfies sugar cravings.

Flavor Fall Pluot

For that added shot of color in displays, Flavor Fall pluot with its deep maroon skin is a great bet! Coming soon and with anticipated volume through late-September, this sweet-tart variety wraps up the pluot season deliciously.

Let your Account Rep know you want to keep stone fruit season alive all the way through to the end by bringing in these tasty varieties and more.
