Summer Farm Visits: OGC In the Field with Willamette Valley Growers

Harvests of Northwest-grown vegetables, fruit and berries are at full tilt making it a busy and beautiful time of year at organic farms in the Willamette Valley. OGC recently headed out into the field to pay a visit to a handful of our incredible grower partners in the region.

The theme of succession was on our minds as we reconnected with each of these growers. While their stories are all unique, nearly every grower on this visit established their farm in cooperation with the previous grower that helped guide them and played an integral role in their success. We’re so grateful for a community of growers deeply invested in the future of organic farming and are thrilled to see these hard-working farms flourishing.

More than just seeing and tasting the delicious organic crops, it was exciting to hear about all these growers are doing to adapt and innovate. From responding to climate change by refining their growing practices to embracing new and unique varieties and figuring out ways to distinguish themselves in a crowded marketplace, these tenacious Northwest growers are truly inspiring.

A huge thanks to Commonplace Farm, Eloisa Organic Farm, Gathering Together Farm, Little Garden Organic Farm, Nuevo Amanecer, Riverland Family Farm and Sunrise Organic Farm and their crews of dedicated workers for welcoming OGC on their farms. Their continued partnership means so much to us as we work together to bring more organic produce to the people.

Please join us in supporting these farms by letting your Account Rep know you’d like to choose Northwest-grown options on your next order!
