OGC Visits Longtime Stone Fruit Grower Partners in California

Stone fruit orchards in California are heavy with sweet and succulent apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches, plums and pluots. OGC recently had the opportunity to visit several of our incredible grower partners in the Central Valley to reconnect and see how this season’s fruit is coming along.

The weather has been wild this year, with more spring precipitation than anyone could have expected. Despite a slight delay in the first harvests, the 2023 stone fruit season is now off and running with delicious new varieties available weekly.

Beyond the joy of seeing healthy trees bearing gorgeous fruit, the chance to bond with our long-time partners is a truly special experience.  Time was spent in the field learning about soil health on the ranches, explanations of pruning, thinning and harvest, hearing about the challenges organic growers face, and, in packing facilities viewing post-harvest handling.

A huge thank you to D.E. Boldt, Fruit World, Homegrown Organics, Masumoto Farm, Valliwide and Vern Peterson for welcoming OGC into their orchards and sharing their love for the work, their crews and the incredible fruit that shoppers across the Northwest are seeking this time of year!

Join us in supporting these phenomenal organic growers by bringing in plenty of juicy gems now, and all season long!
